Conan..Now that the NTS high has worn off

First off, overall this is a great set.
I hadn't planned to buy it until I saw the second set of pics Goff put up on the
white board and found myself really liking the way the set looked. Just to give a heads up.. this set has a couple minor problems
A. The bases are a bit too small and way too soft. Belit unless posed just right
likes to tip, Ditto for both Conans. The solution for MY Conans, was to drill the other foot and put an extra clear base on.
Again they will stand..but only when posed "just so". Adding the base to the other foot now makes them a whole lot more secure. The soulution would have been simple.
If they had used the inner re-enforcement for the base like T-3's Arnolds and 'Flesh
TX, there would have been no problem.
B. The Fire Dragon has a big enough base
and is a terrific figure, but a bit small. Belit looks quite the bully bitch going after wee poor baby dragon with that big scythe. Call the SPCA!!!
The bases are to fit together for those two. [img]wink.gif[/img]
C.At least in my set almost all the end pieces for the weapons *The little removable pieces that plug in to get the sword /axe handles into their hands are
very loose.* I plugged the little cross with the three spheres into Conan of Cimmeria's sword and [I]knew[/] it would be a matter of time before the tiny piece went "MIA". Well , it did already, so at least that's over with. [img]biggrin.gif[/img]
Now for the good stuff!
The paints are top notch, really tight, no mess, applications. They have just enough blackwash on them to make them look dirty, but not so much that they look like they've been rolling in the mud. Very realistic.
Ditto for the sculpts on these. Just superb!
The expressions on there faces are fantastic, action warrior expressions, without being 'over the top' to the point where they look like they have to take a dump. [img]tongue.gif[/img] I also love the fact that the figures are versatile in the sense that they can fit in with a number of Dark Ages sets etc.. You can keep them all together or
put some of the characters in with S22, Fire Dragon would look good with any of the Asian stuff even though he's a bit small.
Despite the few minor negative issues this
set still comes most highly recommended for any collector that likes fantasy warrior figures and really artful sculpts!!

I hear only nice thigns mostly about this set but I will stay away from it..now I am waiting for some Japanes NTS comming next week ..and its SW related..darn I will be so high [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Sounds great Q-man!! [img]graemlins/thumbs_up.gif[/img] I'm not personally saying to stay away from Conan..I really love the set!
I just wanted to pass along the minor flaws.
Overall, I really am stoked to own it! [img]biggrin.gif[/img]

I only ordered the "womens" and the "dragon". The men from DARK AGES SPAWN: THE VIKING AGE were demanding Wenches & Grog.

Lotus Angel wanted a pet, and damn it, what is not to like, it's a dragon!

yeah, my conan tips a little, Im probably just gonna use a stand on the other foot as well, I dont get why it's posed to have the toes sticking up....


As for the weapons, I just glued the end onto the sword once it's in his hand

TM..Weaponless? Both Conans come with 2 weapons ea.
